Someone has left the TV on

30 second bursts of sight-based commercialism
Trying to teach us
That happiness can be
"brought home for the holidays."
At "everyday low prices."

As music plays
(Vaguely remembered)
Protesting all that is wrong with the world
While the lead singer
Nurtures his million-dollar record deal.
